"The Invaders" is the ninth episode of the first season of Sammy & Co. It premiered on December 25, 2015, on Netflix.
Synopsis
When divers armed with nets and a harpoon capture Pipo and endanger the reef, Ricky, Ella and Annabel must save their friend and scare off the humans.[4]
Plot
The episode opens in the reef village where Pipo is sniffing at several ocean plants to eat for breakfast before school. After dismissing Arthur giving him a string after mistakenly thinking it's “a nice, fat mud worm”, Pipo notices a bottle of stewed fruits above him and slurps on it. However, what Pipo didn't know is that the food he feeds on is actually expired and it gives him a stomach ache while on his way to school.
At the shell school, Lulu and his students are all surprised to see Pipo looking very sick as well as hiccuping and belching out bubbles. Lulu can tell that his student isn't lying when he tells him that he doesn't feel so good after what he ate earlier so Pipo is excused for the day and he is instructed to go swim close to the surface to take in a bit of sunshine so he could feel better. However, as soon as Pipo left, Sammy and Ray both arrived at the school and alerted everyone to an emergency. The two turtles have detected the presence of humans on the beach above them earlier that day and they don't know what the humans are going to do with the reef inhabitants. Sammy tells Lulu and the students to not panic and they have to follow the emergency procedures by hiding under all the rocks until the humans leave the beach. He even wars them to not attract their attention and not touch anything they drop into the water. Realizing that Pipo isn't with them to learn about the emergency, Ricky, Ella, and Annabel all leave the school to warn him about it.
The three kids all follow Pipo and they see that he has noticed a fishing bait in front of him and he's about to eat the bait. Annabel immediately comes to Pipo's rescue by grabbing onto the hook and bait and ties it to a coral which prevents the sick Pipo from accidentally getting himself captured by the humans.
At the same time, the rest of the villagers are all hiding under the rocks from the humans and Sammy is checking if everyone is there. However, he and Lulu both notice that Ricky, Annabel, Pipo, and Annabel are all missing in the group, so Sammy has to go searching for them while Lulu goes tell Albert to come over to protect the villagers who're hiding under the rocks.
While the kids are about to go back to hide with the other villagers, they accidentally attract a diver's attention because of Pipo belching out bubbles when the four are all hidden under a rock. The diver finds the four kids and captures Ricky, but Ella and Annabel both manage to rescue the young leatherback turtle by distracting the diver. Sammy arrives to see the commotion and realizes that they've been spotted so they need to evacuate the reef village for their safety. The villagers all frantically follow Sammy to get outside the reef, including Albert who's unable to scare away the divers.
During the panic, Albert accidentally bumps into Arthur, which causes the butterfly fish to turn around and swim back to the reef due to his bad eyesight. Pipo, who manages to recover from his stomach ache, follows his father to try to get him to turn around, but the father and the son are both captured by a diver. After the three manage to hide from another diver who's following the villagers outside the reef, Ricky, Ella, and Annabel all swim back to the reef to rescue Pipo.
Meanwhile, the captive villagers are all fearing for their lives since the humans are going to take them out of the water to cook them into fried fish at any moment. Pipo apologizes to his father for causing catastrophes since he felt it's his fault he got both himself and his father captured by the humans, but Arthur encourages him not to give up if he wants to save himself and the other villagers and figure out how to get rid of the humans away from the island. The captive villagers all noticed a hole from the net, but since it's too small for anyone to get out, it allows Pipo to swim out of it and searches for anyone around to help. While swimming around the empty reef, Pipo notices the same bottle of stewed fruits he ate in the morning which gives him an idea on how to get the humans to leave them in peace. He continues swimming around the reef until he finally meets up with Ricky, Ella, and Annabel who're searching for him and tells them that he needs their help.
While the kids are on their way to rescue the captive villagers, the rest of the villagers who managed to escape from the divers are all taking refuge at Big Boss's shipwreck to hide from them. Big Boss reluctantly refuses to let his enemies all get into his place, but Sammy argues with him that they don't have any more choices since they've got humans on their tails so everyone has to hide in there as soon as possible. As soon as everyone gets inside the shipwreck, the diver starts swimming to it and he starts shining a flashlight inside to search for them. While hiding, Sammy asks Ray if he has seen the kids, but Ray assures him that they must've found a good hiding place since he knows how clever they are despite their young age.
Back at the reef village, Annabel freed the captive villagers by untying the net's knots which allows the fish to all swim out and hides under a den with the kids after a human notices that the fish in the net have all escaped. Pipo volunteers Ricky and Ella to help him with his plan and it is to find a reserve where the humans stock the stewed fruit bottles that are floating above the ocean.
Ricky and Ella both swim up and look above the surface to see a cooler full of the stewed fruit bottles on the beach as well as noticing Paul, George, and Ringo are all perching on a nearby palm tree. The two turtles both arrive at the island shore and while Ricky leaps onto a cooler and looks at the bottles, Ella is swimming to the seagulls and tricks them into eating the stewed fruit bottles by lying to them the cooler is full of “nice fish soup”. After digesting the expired stewed fruits, the seagulls all have a stomach ache and start pooping on the island which scares off the humans.
At Big Boss's shipwreck, everyone overheard a human from the diver's radio telling him that they're leaving the island immediately, much to the happiness and relief to the villagers. Once the villagers all return to the reef, they all thank Pipo for his heroism since they know that it's his plan that manages to successfully get rid of the humans and save everyone from being eaten by them.
Meanwhile back at Big Boss's place, the seahorse is relieved to be alone again, only to get his moment ruined by Marco, Philippe, and Jax all celebrating. Jax notices a bottle of stewed fruits near him and he becomes curious about it. Big Boss demands Jax to give him the bottle so he could taste it first and after he slurps on it, he suddenly gets a stomach ache since no one in the shipwreck is told by the villagers that the bottle of food is actually expired for anyone to eat.

- In this episode, one of the humans' name is mentioned to be Cameron.
- As revealed in this episode, Annabel knows how to untie knots by using her tentacles.
- The humans who appeared in this episode are depicted as careless beings toward the environment they briefly stayed. Aside from endangering the reef, they harmed the environment by tossing out expired food in the ocean which would contaminate the water, caused the animals who eat the expired food get sick and capturing the sea creatures so they could eat them, especially Ricky, who's only a juvenile sea turtle.
- This is the first episode in which one or more humans have visited the island and puts the reef inhabitants in danger by their presence.
- Even though Ella mentioned that Annabel can't walk on land because she's an octopus, in real-life, there are actual octopuses who are able to walk on land for a short amount of time. Though, it's possible none of the kids know about the fact yet.
- The same scuba diver from A Turtle's Tale 2: Sammy's Escape from Paradise makes a return in this episode he would later re appear in Light on the Reef.
