—Alberto, "The Shark's Tooth" | ||
Albert is a great white shark who lives in the reef village in the Southern Seas.
Appearance
Albert is a large great white shark with dark-blue eyes. He has one tooth visible in his lower jaw.
Personality
Despite Albert's intimidating appearance, he is a very friendly, harmless, and nice shark who is recognizable by having only one tooth in his lower jaw. He is always in a good mood and helps those in need since he loves being of use to the village residents. Albert used to be a strong, feared, and respected shark, but after he lost all but one tooth in his jaws when trying to eat the hull of a submarine many years ago, he becomes a vegetarian and chooses to only eat seaweeds and planktons for the rest of his life.[3]
Relationships
Alpha
Alpha is Albert's pilot fish and best friend. The two both live together at Albert's den in the reef village and they both enjoy each other's company. And as revealed in "The Alpha Mystery", the two always celebrate the anniversary of the time the two first met each other and becoming friends.
In "For Better or for Worse", their friendship is put to a test when Albert and Alpha have an argument with each other. Albert has stopped eating because of his fear of losing his final tooth, but he indirectly causes Alpha to not eat anything either which makes Albert mistakenly assumes Alpha couldn't care less about his tooth when Alpha suddenly refuse to help him, not knowing how very hungry Alpha was and not having enough strength to do his many tasks for Albert.
Ray and Rita
Albert has known both Ray and Rita long before Sammy and his clan all found the reef village, as revealed in A Turtle's Tale: Sammy's Adventures. When Ray wants to help Sammy get together with Shelly, Albert and the chipmunks is recruited by Ray to help Sammy "make a big entrance" to impress her.
Sammy
Like with Ray and Rita, Albert has known Sammy long before the foundation of the reef village. The two met when Ray recruited Albert to help Sammy reunited with Shelly after the two accidentally separated from each other during their journey around the world. Albert pretends to be a menacing shark who chases after Shelly before Sammy arrives to "rescue" her. But while the ruse is later exposed, Albert does help Sammy realizes Shelly loves the latter for who he is and the two green turtles become a couple. Since then, Albert is on friendly terms with Sammy and he would help him around the reef village.
Shelly
Albert is on friendly terms with Shelly ever since he helped her and Sammy become a couple when they're younger. The two didn't actually meet until Albert was recruited by Ray to help Sammy get together with her by pretending to be a menacing shark who wants to eat her before Sammy comes to her "rescue". He also rescued an abandoned shellys younger nan named joyce.
Ricky, Ella, Pipo, and Annabel
Albert is a caring friend towards all the children of the village and enjoys playing games with them. He's also very protective of them whenever they venture out of the reef that Albert has to defend them from the other sharks.

Trivia
Albert with two teeth.
- Despite Albert currently has only one tooth left, he used to have two teeth in his jaws when he helped get Sammy and Shelly back together which are visible as shown in the flashback of A Turtle's Tale: Sammy's Adventures. This meant he had later lost his second-to-last tooth at some point between the events of the film and "The Shark's Tooth".
- Albert doesn't speak in his debut appearance in the first film.
- According to Albert in "The Shark's Tooth", his teeth didn't grow back anymore after he bit on the submarine and Alpha mentioned that Albert tends to get a toothache.
- Because he's friends to everyone in the reef despite they're supposed to be his natural prey, Albert must only eat seaweeds and plankton to avoid devouring all of the inhabitants. In "Yum", he became dangerously close from eating his friends after he went too long without eating his vegetarian diet when Big Boss and his henchmen all stole the food supply.
- In "Wild Life", Alpha mentioned that Albert can hear pretty well, but he can hardly see anything. This meant Albert is far-sighted since he can see someone a bit farther away from him, but he can still be able to detect sea creatures in front of him thanks to their sound and movement.
- Albert is one of the eldest residents of the reef since he's seen in the flashback of A Turtle's Tale: Sammy's Adventures when Sammy, Ray, and Shelly were all somewhere between their late teens or early twenties and as of the events of Sammy & Co, the three aforementioned turtles are all currently over the age of fifty. In real-life, great white sharks can live as long as seventy years or more.
- Albert is not the same shark who appeared in A Turtle's Tale 2: Sammy's Escape from Paradise despite having the same name. The Albert from the sequel film is a hammerhead shark instead of a great white shark and he has visible teeth in his jaws.
- At times, Albert would have a deep-water fish place inside his mouth to pretend he has teeth. He often does that whenever he had to trick someone into thinking he's a different shark, such as in "Like a Grownup" and "Happy Pipo".
- Albert is seen to have been electrocuted twice. He was electrocuted by Glitz in "The Shark's Tooth" and he was later electrocuted by a fever of electric rays in "Ricky's Betrayal".
- Albert has been participating in the Sharks' Treasure ceremony many times before as revealed in "The Sharks' Treasure". He is also well-known within the shark circle as "Albert the Submarine Biter" because of how he lost nearly all his teeth.
- Alongside Margaret, Albert is in charge of guarding the entrance to the reef since his den is located near it.
