| “ | What are you talking about, son? This isn't a catastrophe. It's a golden opportunity. [...] To approach the enemy and find out how to rid of him. In our family, we know how to use our brains. | ” |
—Arthur, "The Invaders" | ||
Arthur is a yellow longnose butterfly fish who is the father of Pipo. He's also the second husband to Rose and the step-father of Mya.
Appearance
Like his son, Arthur's face is gray that goes ecru under his mouth. However, his eyes are dark-blue, and he has yellow scales with navy blue stripes.
Personality
Like his son, Arthur is cynical, pessimistic, and stubborn. He has very poor eyesight which causes him to often bump into the other villagers, but he always apologizes culturally despite he doesn't want to admit his blindness. However, he cares a lot about his son and wants him to be happy because of his son's occasional grumpiness. And as a well-meaning parent, Arthur will discipline his son or call him out on disobedient and troubling behavior, as seen in "The Lucky Charm" when he, Sammy, and Ray all found the kids sneak out of the reef to swim to the bottomless rift without their permission and they all punished them for it.

Relationships
Pipo
Both Pipo and Arthur live together at the reef village and because of it, the latter wants to do whatever it takes to support his only son. Even though his blindness and stubbornness would often get in the way of their bonding time, they both still love each other and his son acts as his guide so that he doesn't run into something or someone in the village. Since he's the one who raises Pipo, he would often try to give him parental advice in the hope to help him see the world in a positive light. This is seen in "The Invaders" when Pipo and Arthur are both captured by the humans, and Arthur cheers him up by encouraging him that he must not give up if he wants to save himself and the other villagers from being eaten by the humans. He is also protective of his son from dangerous threats and worries about his safety. For instance, when Big Boss conquer the village and he banishes all the large inhabitants out in "Ella's Ego", Arthur immediately stops Pipo from following Ricky when the latter decides to follow his grandparents out so he won't be left behind.
Ricky, Ella, and Annabel
Arthur seems to respect his son's friends since they would often come to help him due to his poor eyesight. He's very grateful when they come to rescue him and the other villagers from the humans in "The Invaders", as well as saving him from the barracudas when he and Pipo both briefly moved to the Oasis in "The Oasis".

Trivia
- In the English version, Arthur sounds a lot like his son. This is because they're both voiced by Matthew Géczy.
- Arthur is unnamed throughout the first season of Sammy & Co. It wasn't until "Big Brother" that his name is revealed.
- When the Seaweed Ball Guardian gets off Pipo and Annabel in "The Imaginary Invalid", Arthur is accidentally seen instead of his son because they both share a similar character model.
