Ricky: Today Mr. Lulu's class is all about whales. It's gonna be huge!
Pipo: Big deal.
Ella: Pipo, hurry up and stop complaining.
Pipo: I hate whales.
(Ricky and his friends are inside the classroom)
Lulu: I hope you all paid attention because tomorrow there will be a test on humpback whales.
Pipo: Oh, great. I should've known.
(Lulu turns around and starts grumbling)
Lulu: Okay. Right. After deliberation, we've decided, since you were all good and attentive today, the test for tomorrow is canceled. So, then, class dismissed.
Babbles: Yippee!
(The Rockfish all laugh as they swim away together)
Pipo: That's not very professional.
Ricky: You complain even when there's not a test.
Pipo: Stop it, that's not funny.
Annabel: Want to go to the playground?
Pipo: How original. Like where we always go.
(Pipo's friends all swim away)
Lulu: Hmm.
Pipo: Hey, you could at least wait for me!

Annabel: You want to play the coin game?
Pipo: Again?
Ella: Why don't we tell riddles?
Pipo: That's a silly game.
Ricky: What about jokes, then?
Pipo: Even worse.
Ricky: Well, why don't you come up with something instead of criticizing?
Pipo: What? (scoffs) Anyway, there's never anything fun to do inside the reef.
Ricky: Okay. Then let's go outside the reef.

Ricky: (chuckles) You-hoo! (hides from the shark)
Shark: Huh?
(Ricky laughs)
Annabel: You-hoo! (hides from the shark)
(The shark looks around and grunts. He turns around and swims off)
Ella: Hello! (She hides from the shark. The kids, except Pipo, all laugh as the shark swims away) Don't worry, Pipo. That shark is a big, old softy. There's no risk.
Pipo: I just think that's a super-silly game. (swims back to the village) It's not right making fun of that poor, old shark.

Ella: Pipo, is everything all right?
Pipo: Yeah, why?
Ella: You're complaining nonstop, even more than usual.
Pipo: What? That's ridiculous. As if I complain all the time. What are they gonna come up with next?
Ella: All right, this time enough is enough. We've really got to do something about it.

Pipo: Ricky? Annabel? Ella? Where are you?
Ricky: (comes out of the clubhouse) Pipo, I, uh... I realize complaining is, uh, part of who you are. But now you're complaining too much.
Annabel: That's for sure. We can't take it anymore. No here, no there, I don't want to, that's silly, that's not right.
Ricky: Annabel.
Annabel: I don't like this game, I don't like this school.
Ricky: Annabel.
Annabel: Yeah? Did I forget something?
Pipo: Come on, you.
Ricky: Now, now, you see? You were gonna complain again.
Ella: Pipo, we love you, but if carry on like this, we won't play with you anymore.
Annabel: Yeah, there'll only be three of us instead of four.
(Ella facepalms. Later, the kids are about to play the coin toss)
Ricky: Who wants to play the coin game?
Pipo: Again?
Ella and Annabel: Huh?
Pipo: I meant to say... why not? Yippee! I love the coin game.
(Ricky is about to throw the coin to Ella, but he drops it)
Ricky: Uhh!
Pipo: Oh, how could you have missed that? Oh, well, it could happen to anybody to miss the coin.
(Pipo tosses the coin and the kids all play. Annabel tosses the coin to Pipo, but he misses)
Ricky: What's wrong, Pipo? You got problems with your eyesight like your father?
Pipo: Uh, very funny, Ricky.
(Pipo tosses the coin to Annabel, and the kids continue their game)

Annabel: What a match! That was a lot of fun.
Ella: All right, see you tomorrow, pals. And don't forget to study for the test on humpback whales.
Pipo: What? But I thought that-- (his friends all laugh)
Ricky: You should've seen the look on your face.
Pipo: What a super joke. Uh, I mean, really, what a super joke! (nervously laughs)

Arthur: Is that you, son? Did you have a good day?
Pipo: No. My friend say that I complain all the time, and now I have to smile even when they drive me crazy. Otherwise, they won't be my friends anymore.
Arthur: Now, now, you just have character, that's all. What do your friends want? That you always be enthusiastic? That you always say yes without giving it a second thought?

Pipo: Hi there, pals. Ready to spend another super day? (high-fins his friends)
Lulu: Who can tell me which--
Pipo: (swims around Lulu) Me! Me!
Lulu: But, Pipo, I haven't even finished asking the question.
Pipo: Yeah, I know, but I just love answering all the questions, Mr. Lulu. Uh... blue?
Lulu: What? Blue?
Pipo: Well, the answer.
Lulu: Not at all. I was gonna ask the name of the species--
Pipo: A seahorse!
Ricky: What's wrong with Pipo?
Lulu: That's enough! Extra homework for you, young man. You think you're clever, do you? You'll be punished!
Pipo: What a dream!
Lulu: Huh?

Ella: I've never seen Mr. Lulu give so many punishments to just one single student before.
Pipo: Yeah. I'm lucky.
Ricky: Stop being so silly. It's as if you were glad to be punished.
Pipo: Well, yeah.
Annabel: That's enough, Pipo. Tell us the truth. We're your friends.
Pipo: But I'm not lying. I finally understand that you've got to be positive about life. And it's all thanks to you guys. Good-bye, Pipo the complainer, and hello, Happy Pipo! (Billy swims by, making Pipo chuckles. Pipo swims next to Billy near the Playground) Hi there, Billy, the funniest clownfish in the whole world.
Billy: Uh... uh...
(Pipo chuckles. Pipo sees Jimbo snoring)
Pipo: Huh? Isn't he just the cutest when takes his nap? (swims to Jimbo) Just adorable!
(The Rockfish all arrive)
Glitz: That was quite a number, Pipo. You really made us laugh earlier on in class.
Pipo: Uh-huh. Well, thanks, Glitz.
Babbles: Yeah, we weren't laughing with you, we were laughing at you.
Pipo: That doesn't matter. As long as you're happy, then I am, too. You want to come play the coin game with us? We never get bored with that game. Just you wait and see.
Ricky and Ella: Hmm?
(Ricky and Ella both grab Pipo and swim down to the Playground)

Ricky: Are you crazy, inviting the scorpfish to play with us? Out of the question. They're just gonna pester us again.
Pipo: Hey. Now, you're the ones who are complaining all the time. If this carries on, I won't play with you guys anymore.
Ricky, Ella, and Annabel: Huh?
Pipo: I'm just joking. Ha ha ha ha!
Ricky: This time there's no doubt about it. He's taking us for a bunch of fools with him and his silly Mr. Happy Face.
(Later that day, the kids are swimming back to the playground where Pipo is waiting for them while holding the coin)
Ella: And what if, instead of playing with the coin, we played at telling riddles?
Pipo: Super idea!
Annabel: Or what if we tell jokes?
Pipo: Even better.
Ricky: I have an even better idea. What if we teased the shark like we did yesterday?
Ella: So, then, what do you think? You don't want to? Too risky?
Pipo: I love that idea. And we could make it even more fun. What if we tickled the shark's nose? I bet I could make him laugh. After all, he's just a big, old softy, so there's no risk. We accept!
Annabel: We're gonna have a ball! We love having fun!
Pipo: Uh... see you all later. We'll meet up after my punishment.
Ella: Now, this is getting ridiculous. We have to tell Pipo to forget it. It's far too dangerous.
Ricky: Don't worry, I have an idea. Come along with me.
(Ricky, Ella, and Annabel all swim to Albert's den)

Ricky: You see, Albert? All you have to do is look so mean and scary that Pipo won't recognize you, just in case he might.
Annabel: Yeah. And anyway, he'll be so scared, he wouldn't dare to tickle your nose. And he'll have to admit that it was his intention to drive us crazy by being so positive all the time.
Albert: All right. I don't really understand, but as long as it doesn't put any of you in danger, I'll do it.
Ricky: Yeah!
(The kids all swim away from the den. But just then, Pipo arrives)
Pipo: Psst! Albert!
Albert: Pipo? What in the--
Pipo: I have a favor to ask you. Later on, I need you to look really mean and scary, and I'm gonna come up and tickle on the nose. But don't worry. It's just for fun.
Albert: Uh... okay. As long as nobody will be put in danger.
Pipo:' Thanks, you're the best. And anyway, Ricky and the others won't dare let me go and do it. And they'll have to say they're sorry for wanting to change me for who I am.

Ricky: Still up for the challenge, Pipo?
Pipo: Oh, yeah, this is gonna be a blast.
(The shark swims by)
Annabel: There he is!
Pipo: All righty, then. I'll just go and tickle the nose of that big, old, dangerous shark.
Ella: Yeah, yeah. Go right ahead.
(Ricky pushes Pipo, and the latter swims to the shark)
Ricky: He's bluffing. He's gonna back down and come back begging forgiveness.
Pipo: They're bluffing. In a couple of seconds, they're gonna call me back and say they're sorry.
(Just then, Albert appears behind Ricky, Ella, and Pipo)
Albert: Hey, guys. (Ricky, Ella, and Annabel all gasp) Remind me for-- (He splits out the deep-water fish from his mouth) Remind me for who I'm supposed to look all mean and scary for. I'm a little lost.
Ella: Albert? But if you're here, then... who is that shark over there?
Ricky: Pipo! Don't do it!
Pipo: (to the shark) Way to go with the super-scary look. It's totally believable. (the shark snarls at him) Aah! It's not Albert!
(The shark chases after Pipo, but Albert stops the shark by holding onto him and Pipo hides behind his friends)
Albert: That little fish is my friend!
Shark: He was making fun of me! I'm fed up with the children around here mocking me all the time! That little guy's gonna pay for all the others.
Albert: You're absolutely right. They should never have done that. Speaking of which, they're all gonna say they're sorry.
The kids: We're sorry, Mr. Shark.
Shark: You're not forgiven!
Albert: (continues to hold onto the shark) Don't make me get mad here.
Pipo: Forget it, Albert. He's right. We did make fun of you. And it surely must've hurt your feelings, Mr. Shark. And we really are sorry, but-- but the truth is, we were just playing around with you.
Shark: You talk too much, butterfly fish. And I'm hungry. (pushes Albert away)
Albert: Uhh! (the shark chases after Pipo) Oh!
Pipo: Instead of seeing us as just a bunch of mean little kids, you really should see that we were trying to be... friendly. Yes. Because the truth is, we like you. (the shark bumps into the passageways of the reef) All that was just a silly way of having fun.
Shark: Will you just be quiet?
Pipo: It's thanks to you that four children have a little fun, that four friends get to share some special moments together.
Shark: (pants) You get on my nerves! And plus, you've ruined my appetite.
(The kids and Albert all laugh)
Pipo: You guys think that's funny? I almost just got eaten by a shark!
Ricky: Oh, I detect a little bit of annoyance here. You wouldn't be complaining by any chance, would you?
Ella: Pipo, we should never have tried to change you. We like you just the way you are--complaining or joyful.
Ricky: I think I even prefer you when you're a complainer.
Pipo: You guys think that's funny? I almost just got eaten by a shark!
(Everyone, except Pipo, all laugh. Pipo then winks at the audience and chuckles)
