[ Theme Song ]

Scene: Reef village. Ricky, Ella, Pipo, and Annabel are racing around the reef.

Mika: Hey there, be careful!
Ella: Sorry! Excuse us!
Villager: You think that's funny, children?
Villager 2: Will you look where you're going?
Ricky: Sorry, but we can't stop!
(The kids all crash into the seaweed field)
Crab: Huh? Oh!
(The kids stop racing)
Ricky: Eww, gross.
Pipo: This was part of the challenge?
Crab: What do you kids, think you're doing?
Crab 2: Some of us are trying to work around here.
Ella: Sorry, Mr. Crabs. It's because we wanted to see who would be the fastest to make it around the village.
Ricky: With our eyes closed. That was my idea. And I was gonna win.
Pipo: I was gonna win!
Ella: I was totally gonna win.
Pipo: What? Are you kidding?
(Sammy arrives)
Sammy: Well, I have a new challenge for you children.
The kids: Huh?
(Later, the kids are placed near Sammy's habitat)
Sammy: Don't move from here until I say so. That will give you time to reflect upon how silly you've all been. (swims away)
Ricky: And here I thought that the peace sign on Sammy's shell meant he was cool. Yeah, right. We're not even allowed to play in the reef anymore. Hmm.

Scene: Big Boss's shipwreck. Big Boss is celebrating his birthday.

Big Boss: All right, can I open my eyes again now?
Marco and Philippe: Surprise! Happy birthday, boss!
(A turtle that looks a lot like Sammy is between Marco and Philippe)
Big Boss: Hey! What in the world is he doing here?
Eddy: (imitating Big Boss's voice) Hey! What in the world is he doing here?
Big Boss: Huh? What is it with that ridiculous voice?
Eddy: (imitating Big Boss's voice) Huh? What is it with that ridiculous voice?
(Marco and Philippe both laugh)
Philippe: That's not Sammy, it's Eddy. Ha ha ha! He's our gift.
Eddy: That's right. I have the gift of being able to perfectly reproduce the sound of people's voices. In all modesty, I'm considered the greatest impersonator of the seas.
Big Boss: Sorry to disappoint you, but your impersonation of me was pathetic.
Eddy: What?
Big Boss: However... you look exactly like Sammy. Hmm. Tell me, if there was this turtle I hate-- I mean, that I know-- that was going away on vacation, would you be able to take his place without anyone noticing?
Eddy: Why, of course. I'm the greatest impersonator around. Uh, however, I'll need to hear Sammy speak to be able to imitate him.
Big Boss: Hmm.

Scene: Reef village. The kids are still being punished.

Pipo: Boy, oh, boy. Haven't we had enough time to reflect?
(The kids all sigh. Ricky then notices something on a plant nearby)
Ricky: Huh? (picks up a coral in a shape of a boomerang) Ahh. (tosses it back, but the boomerang glides back and hits Ricky's head) Uhh! Huh? Ahh. (picks up the boomerang) Listen up, pals. I think I've come up with a super new challenge. You have to throw this as far as possible.
Ella: May I remind you that we're being punished, Ricky? We have to stay still.
Ricky: Oh, come on. We only promised we wouldn't move from here. Who's throwing first?
(He gives the boomerang to Pipo)
Pipo: (throws the boomerang) Ha! Ohh.
(The boomerang glides back and hits Pipo, making Ricky laughs)
Ricky: Gee whiz, how'd you do that? My turn.
(Ricky throws the boomerang, but he accidentally hits Sammy who comes back)
Sammy: I thought I told you children to stay still.
Ricky: It's just that I-- I lost my grip on it and--and, um---
Sammy: It's almost night. It's time to go to bed. And I don't want you children playing with this. It's very dangerous.
(The kids all follow Sammy as he swims home. Sammy drops the boomerang, unaware that Eddy is hiding nearby and have picked it up)

Scene: Big Boss's shipwreck

Big Boss: What is this mess? I want this place spick-and-span, and faster than the wink of an eye!
Philippe: Huh?
Big Boss: And I don't want to hear any complaining.
Eddy: (imitating Sammy's voice) It's almost night. It's time to go to bed.
Big Boss: Sammy? Mind your own business.
Eddy: And I don't want you children playing with this. (throws the boomerang to Big Boss) It's very dangerous. (imitating Big Boss's voice) Thank you, thank you. The one, the only...
Big Boss: Eddy? That was a perfect impersonation! Come on, what do you know? This could come in very handy. I am such a genius! (Big Boss laughs, but Marco and Philippe both laugh, too) Huh? (Marco and Philippe both stop laughing)

Scene: Reef village, at night. Big Boss throws the boomerang at Sammy, who's sleeping inside his habitat.

Sammy: Ricky, I thought I told you not to play with this. (swims out of the habitat) Ricky? Hey.
(Marco and Philippe both capture Sammy and tied him up with seaweeds)
Big Boss: Ha ha ha! I think it's high time you had a little vacation, Sammy. And rest assured, dear old Big Boss found the absolutely perfect stand-in for you.

Scene: Cave. Marco and Philippe place a tied-up Sammy in there.

Big Boss: Now it's time for Eddy's grand entrance. He is so easy to manipulate.
(Big Boss, Marco, and Philippe all laugh as they exit the cave)

Scene: Reef village, the next morning. Ella wakes up to the sounds of the villagers outside of Sammy's habitat.

Villager 3: Ow!
Villager 4: That hurt!
Ella: Huh?
Villager 5: Watch out!
(Ella swims out of the habitat)
Ella: What is going on here?
Villager 6: Ow!
Ella: Huh? Huh? (The boomerang is thrown to her, but Ella dodges it. The boomerang hits Lulu near the shell school with a thud) Huh?
Eddy: (imitating Sammy's voice) Did you see that throw? Pretty classy, huh? It's a shame that stupid lobster got in the way.
(Shelly arrives)
Shelly: Where did you go last night? You got up and you never came back.
(Eddy yawns and chuckles. He picks up the boomerang and throws it)
Eddy: (imitating Sammy's voice) Oh. (follows the boomerang)
Ella: It looks like Grandpa changed his mind about playing with a boomerang.
(Ella and Shelly both watch as Eddy throws the boomerang)
Shelly: Oh.

Scene: Shell school. The kids are laughing at Lulu who has a seaweed bandage on his head

Lulu: Today we are going to study how playing with a boomerang can be very dangerous.
(Eddy arrives)
Eddy: (imitating Sammy's voice) Alert! A massive storm is heading towards the reef. We must leave the village!
Lulu: Swim for cover! Children and lobsters first!
(The kids and Lulu all swim out of the shell school)
Eddy: (imitating Sammy's voice) Ha ha ha! That was just a joke. I just made that up.
The kids and Lulu: A joke?
Eddy: (imitating Sammy's voice) Right. Now that school is over with, I have a challenge for you. What do you say we have a backward race? Pretty fun, no?
Ella: A race? We're allowed?
(The kids and Eddy are all having a backward race)
Ricky: Sammy's become super-cool.
Ella: You don't think that's kind of strange?
(Albert and Alpha are swimming nearby. When they see Eddy and the kids are about to swim into them, Albert and Alpha both get out of their way)
Albert: Everybody portside!
Eddy: (imitating Sammy's voice) Yay! I won!
Ricky: That was even better than the race with our eyes closed!
Eddy: (imitating Sammy's voice) ♫ I am the best, I am the best ♫
(Ray arrives)
Ray: Are you all right, Sammy? You seem kind of... strange.
Eddy: (imitating Sammy's voice) Uh, no. I, uh... How do I put this? I've finally come to understand that it's important to have fun.
Ricky: Well, it's about time.
Ray: It's good to have fun, but you forgot about the village council meeting. Everyone is waiting to hear your speech. All right, come along, children.
(Ray and the kids all swim away)
Eddy: (imitating Big Boss's voice) But what am I ever gonna say to them?
(Nearby, Big Boss is hiding behind a seaweed)
Big Boss: Psst. Psst. (whistles) Don't you worry, Eddy. I'll tell you exactly what to say. All you have to do is repeat after me.

Scene: Palaver tree. Eddy is doing his speech.

Eddy: (imitating Sammy's voice) And so it is for the good of the village that I have decided to put three new laws into effect. One, I'd like us to welcome all the seahorses from far and wide. They're such a kind and intelligent species.
Ella: (to her friends) I'm telling you, something definitely weird is going on with our Sammy.
Eddy: (imitating Sammy's voice) Two, it's about time we started working harder. Because three, your boss deserves a triple seaweed ration.
Villager 7: What are you talking about?
Villager 8: And what else?
Mika: Now we've seen everything. Triple seaweed ration?
Eddy: (imitating Sammy's voice) Calm down, everybody. You have to trust me. Have I ever let you down? (swims away and chuckles)

Scene: Big Boss's shipwreck.

Eddy: (imitating Big Boss's voice) That was so much fun getting to play the wise man of the village. I can't wait till the next council meeting, now that I know how to do it.
Big Boss: Don't get too excited, Eddy. You're no wise man. You're just a cheap imitation. So just be happy with repeating what I say and everything will go fine. (Marco and Philippe both laugh at Eddy. Eddy swims out the shipwreck) Thanks to Eddy and the laws he's gonna pass, I shall gain control of the reef. Finally! Ah ha ha ha ha!
(Outside, Eddy has overheard Big Boss's gloat. He swims back to the entranceways to the reef)
Eddy: (imitating Big Boss's voice) That silly seahorse will just see if I don't have what it takes to be a wise man. I can invent super laws as well.

Scene: Palaver tree. Eddy is hosting another meeting.

Eddy: (imitating Sammy's voice) New village council meeting... right now! That's right. Sammy's making your dreams come true. No more school, and no more work, to make room for mandatory hide-and-seek playtime! Starting right... now!
Ella: What is he going to come up with this time?
Ricky: Don't you think it's kind of cool?
Eddy: (imitating Sammy's voice) You all go hide, and I'll start counting. One, two, three, four, five...
(The kids all swim to the playground)

Scene: Playground. The kids are hiding from Eddy in the clubhouse.

Pipo: Ella's right. Sammy has just not been himself since this morning.
Ricky: You mean to say he's just become super-cool.
(Eddy arrives)
Eddy: (imitating Sammy's voice) Saw you! (laughs)
(The kids all swim out of the clubhouse)
Ella: Huh? (looks at Eddy's shell) Look, guys, Sammy no longer has the peace sign on his shell.
Eddy: (imitating Sammy's voice) Huh? No, no, no. It's just that I, uh-- I wanted to shine up my shell to be even more cool, and, uh, I-- I rubbed so hard, I erased it. Kind of silly, huh? Since I found you, it's now your turn to try and find me. (swims out of the playground) Yah-hoo!
Ricky: (to Ella) Okay, okay. I don't believe his story for a second, either. You think that--
Ella: All we have to do is ask him a couple of questions that only Sammy would know the answers to. If he answers incorrectly, we'll know he's an imposter.
Pipo: We still have to find him. Need I remind you we're playing hide-and-seek?

Scene: Near the palaver tree. The kids are searching for Eddy.

Ricky: You-hoo! Sammy!
Ella: You-hoo! Sammy! Where are you?
Annabel: Where are you hiding?
Pipo: Come out, come out, wherever you are!
Ricky: Saw you!
(The kids all swim to the shell school)

Scene: Shell school. Eddy is hiding behind the school.

Ricky: I was wondering, Sammy, how many days did it takes you to go around the world?
Eddy: (imitating Sammy's voice) Well, I can't remember. Around 80 days, I think.
Annabel: Sammy's losing his memory. It took him years! And by the way, the day you met Shelly, did you save her from seagulls or terrible giant piranhas?
Eddy: (imitating Sammy's voice) Why are you asking me that? Well, it was from giant piranhas, of course.
Ella: Wrong! It was from seagulls.
Eddy: (imitating Sammy's voice) I know. I was just pulling your flippers.
Pipo: Uh, by the way, what's the first thing you do when you get up in the morning? I'd so love to know because you're our idol.
Eddy: (imitating Sammy's voice) You guys kill me with all your questions. In the morning, I have my breakfast. A bit of seaweed, and I'm ready to go.
Ella: Wrong again! You kiss Shelly, and then you kiss me. If you were the real Sammy, you'd know that.
Eddy: (imitating Big Boss's voice) I'm telling you, I'm telling the real Sammy. Uh... (imitating Sammy's voice) Come on, of course, I'm the real Sammy. (imitating Big Boss's voice) Don't be angry with me. I just wanted to have a little fun and prove to Big Boss that I'm the best impersonator of all the seas.
Ella: I knew it.
Annabel: An impersonator?
Pipo: He's Sammy's look-alike.
Ricky: Another one of Big Boss's tricks.
Ella: Where is Sammy, then?
Eddy: You don't need to worry. He's away on vacation.
Ella: On vacation? Without telling anybody? Impossible. We have to find him fast. And you're gonna help us.
Eddy: Mm-hmm.

Scene: Outside the reef. Marco and Philippe are swimming to the cave where Sammy is kept.

Marco: Uhh. I shouldn't have eaten so much seaweed.
(Nearby, Eddy and the kids are hiding behind a large rock)
Eddy: (imitating Big Boss's voice) Go set Sammy free.
Marco: What was that, Big Boss?
Eddy: (imitating Big Boss's voice) Get your fins into gear!
(Marco and Philippe both swim to the cave, unaware that's Eddy who impersonates Big Boss's voice)
Ricky: Way to go, Eddy!
(Later, Marco and Philippe have untied Sammy. Ella comes to hug Sammy)
Sammy: Ahh.
(The kids and Sammy all look at Eddy)

Scene: Palaver tree. Eddy is hosting another meeting.

Eddy: (imitating Big Boss's voice) Don't be mad at Sammy. I'm the one who came up with all those silly laws. (imitating Sammy's voice) By pretending I was him.
(The villagers all gasp)
Sammy: Don't worry. All is forgiven, as I've decided to forget about all those completely absurd laws.
Ricky: Sammy, that's really cool of you to have forgiven Eddy.
Ella: I sure would like to hear Big Boss when he finds out that his moray eels freed Sammy.
Eddy: (imitating Big Boss's voice) Easy. He'll say...

Scene: Big Boss's shipwreck.

Big Boss: "My plan was ingenious!" Why in the world am I surrounded by such incompetence? Why?
